Scott is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the Texas Heart Institute School of Perfusion, he has been a practicing perfusionist for 20 years in the Dallas - Fort Worth area.  During this time, he worked at Baylor Scott & White Health and Medical City Health. His leadership roles have been serving as supervisor of perfusion at Medical City Health for the North Texas Region. He was responsible for developing the ECMO program and changing the cardiac preservation process, utilizing single dose Microplegia techniques while also studying the outcomes compared to Del Nido cardioplegia.  While working at Baylor Scott and White Health he served as perfusion program manager at Baylor University Medical Center and clinical lead for the BSW system collaborative.  During this time Scott was one of the lead perfusionist who was responsible for the development of Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP) and its implementation at Baylor University Medical Center.   Scott has presented nationally and internationally discussing myocardial preservation processes and normothermic regional perfusion, as he is considered a subject matter expert in the field.  He is currently serving as director for the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion as well as Secretary for the Texas Perfusion Organization which serves as a non-profit for the perfusion community in Texas.   Scott is also co-founder/co-owner of Regional Perfusion Services which is a leader in the perfusion community, for Normothermic Regional Perfusion, ECMO and Cardiopulmonary bypass processes and techniques.  Scott has many areas of interest in perfusion ECMO, NRP, myocardial preservation, but his current passion is to develop standards of practice for NRP and continue to increase organ transplantation and receipent outcomes.
